Playing for Close to a Milly

@HPTPoker $2500 Championship Event Day 2 is about to start with 178 players returning for the play-down day.

45 cash and 9 make the televised Final Table on Tuesday. While the goal is to play down to 9, there's backup plans in place should the field not break down all that fast. Stay tuned for more on that information as the day goes along.

Three of teh top 4 chipstacks to start Day 2 all have HPT Blackhawk final tables on their resumes, including February 2016 champ Aaron Thomas who starts today 2nd in chips and is also in the hunt for the Season XII Player of the Year title.

There's a ton of quality in this field, including November Niners JC Tran and Mark Newhouse. Tran also has a WPT title won in this house, looking to keep the HPT Championship title in his backyard.

Cord Garcia, Aditya Prasetyo, Blair Hinkle, Chan Pelton, Ryan D'Angleo, Loren Klein, Allen Kessler, Tyler Patterson, Stan Jablonski, Kenna James, Kathy Liebert, Lee Markholt, Darren Rabinowitz, Roger Campobell  and more are among those searching for the $223,000-plus up top.

HPT Champs like Sameer Al-Sbhany, Casey Carroll, Duke Lee, and Nick Davidson bagged Day 2 stacks on their way to more TV time and another title shot.
