It's Called Table Talk
Matt @PokerNews916 Boddorf and Shawn @Sac_Poker Roberts have a very polite Kassouf-session going at an outer table. No, this is not Speech Play, it's been around for decades, known simply as Table Talk, where players banter back and forth during a hand.
Here's how it works, courtesy of Matt (above) and Shawn.
The talk begins preflop, both players laughing as Boddorf raises and Roberts calls from the BB.
The flop draws a check from Roberts, who gathers a few 100-chips in his hand at the same time. Boddorf asks how many chips he has, Roberts says three, and Boddorf bets 300, with Roberts snap-calling.
"He didn't even look!" laughs Boddorf.
The turn is and both players check.
"No heart," says Boddorf before the river, and poor George Cabrey - caught in between these two - asks for a table change!.
The river is . Roberts tosses out two 500-chips and says, "I don't think you wanted a heart."
"I didn't," says Boddorf, who bumps it up by sliding 6 1000-chips onto the felt.
Roberts asks what the bet is, then flips out a single-chip-call while turning over for trips.
Boddorf, however, turns over for a boat, and Roberts is out a few hands later, back to registration for his one $125 re-entry today.
Cabray, meanwhile, doesn't get a lot of help, and the draw sends Roberts back to the same table, but now there's an extra player separating Boddorf and Roberts. Good luck, George, they really mean well.
